Associations: Daughter of Njordhur, Sister of Freyur, Wearer of the gold-and-amber necklace Brisingamen. She sometimes rides a giant boar named Hildisvini.

Her realm in Vanaheimur is called Folkvangur (“Field of the Folk”), where she maintains the hall Sessrumnir (“Hall of Many Rooms”)

Freyja was originally sent by the Vanir as a hostage to live with the Aesir at the end of the primordial war between the two clans of gods. She appears as an incredibly beautiful human or elven woman with red-gold hair. She wears a falcon-cloak that lets her assume the form of a bird. She is the goddess of seidhur magic, and taught its secrets to Odhinn, becoming a trusted advisor and member of the clan, protected by all the Asa-folk.
